Spearhead League Rules
The following rules are common knowledge among the clans of the Spearhead League. They must be followed during the course of every match and each clan must comply with them. They consist of the following:
This league stands for good sportsmanship and honest fair play. When conflicts occur, please contact a Spearhead League Admin who will help resolve the issue. We want NO public flame wars or postings of any kind.
All rules must be run and checked before every match to make sure the server is compliant with the Spearhead League standard server config. If there is a problem, please contact a Spearhead League Admin ASAP. If it is a server problem, the match will be moved to a neutral server.
All clans should behave in a sporting manner and most of all have fun. We must have good manners between all clans so clan leaders please remember to keep your members in line.
Server and Client Side Mods
- Inactive spectator kick must be disabled.
- MPSH v3.0 Realism (not modified at all!) must be used for SL matches.
- All servers must have game compatibility enabled to make sure everyone is using the correct version of Spearhead.
- BOD ASS Anti-Cheat 2.0.6.5 is to be used in ALL SL matches, and should be updated as we go on. ASS screenshots rules should be followed aswell. (see relevant forum section for more information)
- SL* works on the policy of a DISSALLOWED Mod List. Anyone found to be using a DISALLOWED mod will result in a -3 points from your overall score
Disallowed Mod List
The disallowed mod list may be updated at anytime if we feel the need.
- The anti-shark mod that kills you when you press "use" on ladders must be disabled on the server.
Failure to have any of these rules implemented will be analysed by SL* Admins, to understand its influence in the match outcome, in order to enforce a proper penalty to the offending clan.
Map Fixes and Out of Bounds Areas
- There are some map fixes that must be in place on your server. These you can download from the SL website.
- No landsharking or going outside of the map confines.
- Roofs are not allowed at all, only exception is the small roof on Neuville, on the right side looking from axis spawn.
- On the map St Lo you are allowed to jump into from the hole in the wall but not allowed to go on the 1st floor.
- Boosting, or standing on another players head to shoot and look over walls, is allowed, however using it to get to otherwise in-accessible areas is forbidden.
- The Motor-Bike Fix on Bridge must be installed.
- The Hunt you are not allowed on the church roof, or above the 1st floor of the bath house. In the axis sniper house you cannot go on the wall on the right hand side. You cannot go onto the wall above the L on the allies right hand side.
- St Lo map MUST have the Rock Fix installed-
- Renan & Bridge Bomb Fixes must be inplace - It stops the Draw situation .
- The La patrouillie 2 Map Fix must be inplace - It removes the health packs.
If any of these Out of Bounds areas are used, it could cost the team at fault that round or a 20-0 forfeit. The SL Admins will make the final call.
If the map fixes are not in place, then the match will be moved to a neutral server.
Teams and Match Schedule
- Minimum Team size is 8v8 but 10v10 or 12v12 is acceptable.
- Only 2 snipers allowed per team. If, however, a sniper is shot, another player is welcome to use his gun.
- Bazookas, Grenade launchers, and Shotguns are not to be used.
- Clans have 15 minutes after the agreed start time to get the team on the hosting clan's server. If a clan only has seven players at the allotted time, that is how many they start the match with.
- If a clan does not show up 20 minutes after the agreed start by both clans, they will forfeit the match.Persistant offending clans will be deducted points.
- If for some reason a clan cannot get the minimum number of players for the match, they can request to re-schedule the match, or in the event of a 10v10 or 12v12, ask the opposing clan to drop the number of players to minimum 8v8. We encourage clans to arrange 8v8, if in doubt, and then rather add players if possible on match day
- If during a match a player from either team gets disconnected due to ping, computer crash, or other hardware issue, the player's clan needs to ask the opposing clan if it ok to allow him to come back in. This cannot be during the round, A pause after that round must be made and restart when he is back in the game.
- A Clan MUST give their opposition 24 hours notice in the case of a re-scheduled. Failure to give 24 hour notice will result in 20 - 0 loss, OR you will have to play with as many members as you can get.
Contact Sheets
- Clans MUST keep their contact sheets up to date to ensure that they can be contacted by other clans.
- Clans who do not fill in Contact Sheets and who do not respond to emails etc will receive 20 - 0 losses at the end of each week.
Match Arrangements
- Matches will be played as both "Home" and "Away" matches. This means you will play each clan twice, once on their server and once on your server.
- You will play 1 match per week and you will play each clan twice (See above rule)
- The preferable start time is 8pm GMT / 9pm CET. However if both clans are unable to start at this time, then try and find a time that works for both clans. Please have some consideration to the time difference and cultural differences that clans have. If no agreement can be made to a start time, please consult your division Admin who will assess the differences before they set the start time for the match.
- If a clan does not show up 20 minutes after the agreed start by both clans, they will forfeit the match.Persistant offending clans will be deducted points.. (See Match Schedule)
- Each match will have a set week. Each match has to be played in the set week, however, if agreed by both clans the match can be played in the following week. If a match is arranged for a week other than its assigned week, clans must inform the Division Admin, by PM, email or post on Forum. Failure to do this may result in the match being entered as 0 - 0.
- Clans having problems contacting opponents, MUST contact Division Admin with Proof, ie: emails and/or msn history conversation. Clans who do not repond will automatically be forfeight 20 - 0 loss.
When Arranging matches could both clans give TS addresses and passwords just incase of a no show.
Posting and Confirming Results
- The Home team will post 1st and the Away Team will confirm.
- The Home Team has 2 hours to post no matter who won. The Away Team will be given 24 hours to confirm the match or it will be considered void.
- For matches that have been refereed, the ref will post the result and both clans will confirm.
Match Problems
- If any problems occur contact an SL Admin at once with proof in the form of screenshots.
- Conflicts over scores must be brought to an SL Admin with the screenshots of the scores. If neither clan has the screenshots, the match must be replayed.
- You can request any match to be refereed but we prefer some notice before the match.
- If there is a debate about scores, please DO NOT post about it on SL forums. Contact an Admin regarding the problem.
- If a clan has more than ½ of their team with a constant ping of 120 or more, they or the oponents can request a neutral server to be used for the match. If no neutral server can be found then the match may be rescheduled. If a clan does not have more than ½ team with 120+ pings, then you have to play on the server that has been arranged unless an agreement is made between both clans.
- If one or both clans are having problems with anticheat so they can't field a team, or problems with getting a acceptable server for both clans, you have the right to reschdule the match to another day, after 30 minutes past original match start.
Referees
- All replayed matches will have a referee present.
- Referees must be given the RCON password to the server and has the option to make both clans take a full set of screenshots.
- The referee for the match will be chosen the day it is to take place and will be fully trained in the SL rules.
- If you fail to comply with what a referee tells you, the offending team will forfeit the match.
- Referees MUST be on a neutral TS at all times during the match. He is not allowed to go onto either clan's TS that are participating in the match. Doing so will warrant a warning to that clan and the referee will be reprimanded.
- You must give SL at least 24 hours notice if you require a referee for any reason in one of your matches.
Un-sportsmanlike Conduct
- Clan leaders are required to keep their members in line. This means that if the SL Admins receive a complaint about one of your members, your clan leader will be responsible.
- Swearing during matches is not allowed at all. Accusing the opposing clan of cheating is also frowned upon. Please contact an SL Admin directly and take screenshots as proof.
- In game chat MUST be in ENGLISH
Any player found using abusive language or any language other than ENGLISH during a SL* match will be given a 2 match ban without appeal
- Clans must not leave the server during a match for no reason unless an SL Admin is contacted. This action will result in a forfeit.
- If there is an argument or some confusion over rules, please contact an SL Admin to join the server and resolve the problems.
Divisions
- The Spearhead League has four divisions that are run like a football league with relegations and promotions.
- These divisions are as follows: Premiership, Division One, and Division Two,
- The Top 2 clans will be promoted to the next division and the bottom 2 clans will be relegated to a lower division.
- 3rd place in each division, will play 3rd bottom of the division above them. The winner of these playoff matches will be in the higher division next season.
This encourages clans to train hard and try to be the best and keeps the competition healthy.
Server Settings
The following settings MUST be written in your server.cfg.
If your SL* match is disputed, and there are incorrect server/anticlient settings, the divisional Admin will decide whether or not these had an overwhelming bearing on the match outcome. If this is found to be the case, then either a forfeit or a replay will be handed out. In any case, the Admin will make a post explaining his or her decision, and this will be final.
